Lulu the Butterfly Amigurumi Pattern
Pattern Level: Beginner
Finished Product Height: 8 cm
Note: Gauging is not important for most amigurumi. Your finished product will vary depending on yarn weight and hook size. This pattern is worked in continuous rounds unless specified otherwise.
Materials
Hook 2.25 mm (US Size B) - I recommend Clover crochet hook
Yarn weight: Fingering 1 - I recommend Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4

Head and Body
Start with color Y;
Rnd 1. Sc 6 in MR [6]
Rnd 2. (Inc) x 6 [12]
Rnd 3. (Sc 1, inc) x 6 [18]
Rnd 4. (Sc 1, inc, sc 1) x 6 [24]
Rnd 5. (Sc 3, inc) x 6 [30]
Rnd 6. (Sc 2, inc, sc 2) x 6 [36]
Rnd 7-13. Sc around [36] (7 rounds total)
Rnd 14. (Sc 2, dec) x 9 [27]
Rnd 15. (Sc 1, dec) x 9 [18]
If using safety eyes, insert now between rounds 11 and 12 about 6 stitches apart. Stuff head (see photo A).

Sl st in the same st of the first ch in MR (see photo F).
Using a sewing needle, invisible FO (see photo G, H).
Leave long tail to sew or weave tail in if using fabric glue.
Weave in all other loose tails (see photo I, K) (photo J shows back of antenna).
Top Wing (x2)
With color W;
Rnd 1. Sc 6 in MR [6]

Fold flat. Do not stuff wing. The decrease side is the top of the wing and increase side is the bottom of the wing.
Rnd 10. (Sc 2, dec) x 2 [14] (adjust and add 1 or 2 more stitches until it ends at the fold (see photo A).
FO and weave tail in (see photo B).
Bottom Wing (x2)
With color W;
Rnd 1. Sc 6 in MR [6]
Rnd 2. (Sc 2, inc) x 2 [8]
Rnd 3. (Sc 3, inc) x 2 [10]
Rnd 4. Sc 4, dec, sc 4 [9]

Fold wing flat. Do not stuff wing (see photo A).
DO NOT BREAK OFF YARN. Continue as instructed.
Starting with the bottom wing, sl st onto the last st of top wing (making sure the decrease side is on top for the top wing. This counts as your first stitch (use a stitch marker here) (see photos B, C).
Rnd 8. Continuing on top wing; sc 1, (dec, sc 2) x 3. Work onto bottom wing; Sc 2, dec, sc 1, dec [16] (see photos D, E)
Rnd 9. (Dec, sc 1) x 4, sc 1, dec, sc 1 [11]
Rnd 10. (Dec, sc 1) x 3, dec [7]
FO and leave long tail to sew wings into body later (see photo F).
WING DETAILS
With color P, sew on wing details. Make 2 loops on each wing piece, making sure the yarn pulls through the other side and is visible on both sides. FO and hide tail of yarn inside the wings (see photos G-I).
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Sew wings onto the back of the butterfly body below round 16 (see photo A).
2. Sew both wings together in the middle (see photo B).
3. Sew antennas onto head on round 2 (alternatively, use fabric glue if you weaved the ends in) (see photos C, D).
